The Freefly Coach Workshop – Level I

Click here for more info on The Freefly Coach Workshop

This event has been cancelled in light of the covid-19 pandemic.

This is the winter edition of our famous Paradise event. A different beach, the same setup of very small group freefly coaching with ocean views. But what makes this event even better:

This camp runs for six days
Your jumps are pre-manifested each day

You land by (or on) the beach
Your hotel is right next to the DZ
Your stay includes three meals a day

The setup
We aim to provide a totally care-free event, so that you can fully focus on learning. Everything is taken care of, from your transport from the airport and your hotel, to your food and even your jumps are pre-manifested ahead of time. We make sure that the coaches are highly qualified to teach you, and because each coach has only three or four students, they’re able to give you their full attention. The camp runs for 6 days and includes 24 jumps. That means that if the weather treats us well, you might finish your 24 jumps early and can choose to do some more jumps, with or without a coach. The participant to coach ratio is 3.5 : 1 so every group has 3 or 4 participants and one coach. Low level groups, students who need 1-on-1 coaching, and groups that are working on something like basic head down skills, will be more likely to have a 3:1 ratio, while more experienced groups can often handle a 4:1 ratio, and they tend to get the more experienced coaches.

The price
The price includes:

  • 24 jumps
  • shared 2-person hotel room
  • 3 meals a day
  • airport transfer
  • all coaching and a few parties and other activities

Extra coached group jumps are 35 EUR each, even if others in your group want to stop jumping and your group becomes smaller. Extra jumps without your coach are 29 EUR. Extra jumps can be paid directly on site or afterwards via invoice.

For freefly beginners
If you’re a total newbie, or just want to learn a new technique or freefly position, you probably need some 1-on-1 coaching. With 1-on-1 coaching you’re still put in a group of 3 participants but one out of every three jumps is coached. For the jumps in between you practise homework assignments by yourself or with your other group buddies. If you progress far enough during the week, you might switch to small group jumps to bring your new skills into practice. If you are unsure if you can join, ask us!

For advanced flyers
You’re put in a small group with three other flyers based on your skills, experience and interest. Every group has a dedicated coach working hard to push your personal level as far as possible. Coaches have only one group each so you have their full attention. Coaches switch groups every few days to offer you some flying and teaching style variation.

How the camp works
You’re manifested with your group and your coach in the same load for every jump. Together you can decide to do a jump with the whole group, split the group into smaller groups or do 1-on-1’s. It works like this: if you jump with the whole group, all jumps are coached. If you split a group of 3 participants to do 1-on-1s, you do one coaching jump and then 2 homework jumps by yourself or with your other group-buddies. A 4-way can also be split into two 2-ways, doing every other jump with the coach. Together with your group and your coach, you can change this plan on a daily basis. We do our best to put you in a group with others that have similar levels and wishes, so you don’t end up doing 1-on-1s when you actually wanted group jumps or the other way around. If you sign up with your friends, you can request to form a group together and get your private coach. The participant/coach ratio is a total average. To ensure the right fit for all group levels the group size may vary, but will never exceed 4 participants to a coach.

We pre-manifest 6 group jumps per day. If there is time left then you can do an extra fun jump at the end of the day. If we can’t finish the 24 jumps due to weather, we will refund your unused jump tickets (29 EUR/jump). Cost for coaching and event organisation can never be refunded.

Accommodation
The camp includes a shared two person hotel room. The hotel is right next to the dropzone at a one minute walk from the beach. The camp includes three meals a day, served at the hotel. It’s a buffet, so you are quite flexible regarding eating times and diet. We can reserve a single room for you upon request (165 EUR/week).

Travel
Arrival day is Sunday February 28, departure is Sunday March 7. Spain is great for train travel. Valencia (VLC) is the closest international airport. Transport from the airport to the hotel and back will be taken care of.

Payment
In the start of 2021 you will be asked to pay a 500€ deposit to secure your slot. Part of this deposit is non-refundable. The remaining amount should be paid latest one month before the start of the event.

To reserve your slot you need to agree to our general booking conditions. If the Covid-19 situation forces us to cancel the event, we’ll give you the option to get a full refund or save your deposit on account for a future event. If your own situation prevents you from attending the event due to Covid-19, we keep your deposit to cover the cost for coaches, but we’ll refund all other payments you might have made to us for this event.
